It's OK, you're in the mountains now... Breathe.
Believe me, you’ll never leave the porch – unless you decide to move over to the hammock.
Gili’s Cove Cottage offers you a way to escape the traffic, noise and stress of urban living.
Gili's Cove Cottage Details
Right On The Creek
Tusquittee Creek, a rushing stream with headwaters in the Nantahala mountains, is sure to wash away the stresses of everyday life.
Bright & Light Open Floor Plan
A wall of windows in the family room and a large open plan means you can gaze at the creek and the mountains from almost every window.
More Details About Your Stay
The cottage sits on a level lot surrounded by an acre of flowering trees and shrubs with a pull-through drive and a carport. Serenity Lane is a dead-end road with only four homes. The first is Gili’s Cove Cottage, next is an acre of woods, then Blackwell Branch Cabin (our sister property), another wooded lot and then our own home. Beyond our home at the dead-end is our one and only neighbor. We own the property between the cottage and the cabin next door, so children (and grown-ups) can feel free to wander among the trees and wildflowers. This special location, tucked away on the south side of the creek, ensures peace and quiet, complete privacy.
Interior: 2 bedrooms & 2 full baths (1500sf)
The home is a two-bedroom/two-bath cottage with a split plan for privacy, sleeps six. Living room + family room allows plenty of room for you and all your gear.
The living room has a gas fireplace heater with two comfy recliners. The family room has a wall of windows overlooking the creek, with an oversized counter and wet bar.
The all-season porch is screened in summer, but when the weather gets cool, the 360-degree windows allow you to still enjoy the porch and the gas fireplace and comfy chaise lounge provide a perfect spot for curling up with a good book.

Nicest and most well furnished rental property we have ever stayed at!! The only thing we needed was our clothes and food!! Everything -and I’m mean everything else was provided!! We look forward to staying with Linda &Jorge again!!
Everything as advertised and more! Gili’s Cove Cottage is the first VRBO property that I experienced everything as advertised (and more). I don’t need to say anything more. Read the VRBO description and believe.
Already planning next visit! The pictures do not do this place justice, it’s beautiful! All the reviews are 100% accurate. Linda and Jorge are excellent hosts. This is the cleanest most well stocked rental we have ever stayed in. All you need is your clothes and groceries. We didn’t want to leave the property during our stay. I was already trying to plan our next visit before we left! Can’t wait to go back!
Screen porch is huge ! Linda and Jorge were wonderful and helpful hosts and have the house supplied with everything you need, other than your food and clothes! It’s a lovely home, with lots of light and all windows on the back overlooking the rushing stream. The screen porch is huge and a great place to read, relax, have a meal, or work on a hobby at the huge picnic table and listen to the stream. We stayed 2 weeks and didn’t want to leave, so we extended our stay a couple more days, before the next guests arrived. If you are a rockhound or gem hunter, don’t miss the Gem and Mineral museum in Franklin (who can help you with where to go) and if you want the fun without the hard work, we did “enhanced buckets” at both Mason Mountain Mine (and Cowee Gift Shop) and Rose Creek Mine, both just a bit north of Franklin. We loved both, but esp. Mason Mountain mine, as they add their gems, crystals, etc. to dirt from the mine so we got a lot of extra garnets and rubies (that they are known for). You can also dig your own dirt at both, which a lot of younger folks were doing.
Attention to detail! thank you for your attention to detail and for anticipating any possible needs your guests might have. You have a beautiful home. We hope to return one day! We had a wonderful, peaceful stay. Now, it’s back to the rat race where the rats appear to be winning!
Loved sitting next to the stream. We have rented from VRBO many times. Without a doubt, this is the cleanest, most well stocked rental we have ever walked into! Furnished with tasteful, high quality bedding, towels and every kitchen gadget you might ever need. Late getting in, we didn’t meet Linda for a couple of days. She asked was there anything we needed or was out of. I replied, “are you kidding? The only thing I hadn’t seen was bathroom scales (but then I wasn’t looking)! I was joking but the next morning, we found a pair of scales on the front porch! Talking about porches…that back porch…you’ll just have to experience that for yourself!!! Loved sitting next to the stream just feet away from the back door and our son caught 30+ fish in the pond on the property. Animals are always a draw for me so we enjoyed the group of deer that walked by several mornings and there were cows and a very friendly donkey on adjoining property we got to pet.
