This is truly a home away from home in every sense of the word. When we arrived, music was streaming through the TV, providing a relaxed and peaceful ambiance. Fresh peaches from SMM Farms in Hayesville, Fires Creek Crackers from Two Country Hens, also from Hayesville, and a bottle of Sparkling Apple Cider, were provided by Linda and Jorge, as a special treat upon arrival. All were delicious! I really love that Linda and Jorge show the support of local businesses in this way.
The house is immaculate, beautifully furnished, and a peaceful and relaxing to get away from it all. The kitchen is well stocked with all that you would need to prepare daily meals, so all you need to do is bring your own food. Towels and linens are provided. Linda and Jorge have thought of everything, even down to the last small detail. They even have a first aid kit in the house which I had to put to use when I received a nasty scrape on my elbow at Bell Mountain. Then there’s the creek. It’s difficult to find anything more relaxing than listening to the flow of water and reading a good book.
Hayesville is a small mountain town, and one that was my hometown for the first 12 years of my life. There are plenty of outdoor activities available in the area. Some that we enjoyed were Lake Chatuge, hiking to nearby waterfalls across the line in Georgia, antique shops, and more. It was a wonderful and relaxing week of enjoying nature and family time. Thank you, Linda and Jorge, for all you do to make Gili’s Cove a true home away from home. We love you!!!
