Tranquility! God’s creation shines here…calms the soul! My husband and I have stayed in this area three times in the past few years. We were okay with the other two homes we stayed in, but not overly impressed. This time, we were impressed. From the start, everything went smoothly with the reservation, questions answered quickly and great info provided. Linda was there to meet us upon arrival and gave us a quick tour of the home and provided information about the area. After she left, we then noted fresh flowers, a treat bag for our dog Willy, a bag of local made granola, a and a bottle of sparkling cider…..so kind. The home was so clean and organized. Full of windows to let in the sunshine – something I crave. The location is great. Easy to go hit Murphy and Franklin, along with Hayesville and do the many antique shops – which we love to do. My husband is a fly fisherman, so the creek behind the house was handy – caught quite a few trout. Rented a pontoon and fished some on Lake Chatuge. He also fished Nantahala River and Fires Creek. Caught trout in all three creeks/rivers he fished, so he was a happy guy. Visited other unique shops and good local restaurants. Weather was a bit limiting each day – was kind of a stormy week. But there are things to do when it’s raining too – go visit the shops! Standing Indian campground was our favorite spot of the week. Beautiful there – and cool up on the mountain. Good fishing and Linda says great hiking. I cannot do long hikes due to spinal disability, but some of the area has some easy, short trails to do. And, can’t forget, we got to bring our buddy Willy along. Linda has a great little pet service available if a long day of adventure is desired, so that helps so much. We had great cell service while there also – US Cellular – more bars than we have here at home! No problems with the Wifi reception either. So, you will be making a wise choice if you choose to stay in this peaceful spot…..tranquility indeed!
